Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2025 Kia Telluride?
The NHTSA has issued 3 recalls affecting the 2025 Kia Telluride. Those recalls involve the air bag Occupant Classification and Detection System (OCS/ODS), seat belt assemblies that may not secure child restraints properly, and an electrical issue where trailer brake lights may not illuminate when Smart Cruise Control applies the brakes. Each recall has a required dealer remedy: replacement of the OCS/ODS unit, inspection and replacement of incorrect seat belt assemblies, and installation of an additional wire harness for trailer brake lights — all performed free of charge by Kia dealers.
How do I check if my 2025 Kia Telluride has an open recall?
You can confirm open recalls by checking your VIN on the NHTSA website or bringing your vehicle to Nalley Kia for a free VIN check. Visit NHTSA.gov and enter your full VIN to view manufacturer recall status, or let our service team verify in-person at Nalley Kia in Lithonia, GA. If you prefer, schedule service with us and our factory-trained technicians will confirm recall status and advise next steps at no cost.
How much does a 2025 Kia Telluride recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are free of charge to the vehicle owner. The corrective actions listed by Kia for these recalls — replacing the OCS/ODS unit, replacing incorrect seat belt assemblies, or installing a wire harness — are reimbursed by Kia and performed at no cost at an authorized dealer such as Nalley Kia. We also offer service financing so you can get other maintenance done now and pay later; ask our service advisors when you schedule appointment.
Can I get my 2025 Kia Telluride recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized franchise dealer to ensure OEM parts and factory procedures are used and to preserve your warranty and safety compliance. Independent shops may not have Kia's specific OCS/ODS replacement parts, factory diagnostic tools, or access to official bulletin procedures required for proper recall completion. Nalley Kia's factory-trained technicians use OEM parts and Kia diagnostic systems to complete recall work correctly and provide the necessary dealer documentation for your records.
How long does a 2025 Kia Telluride recall repair take?
Typical repair times vary by recall but most recall fixes for these issues take between 1–3 hours once parts are available. Some repairs, such as OCS/ODS replacement or wiring harness installation, may require brief diagnostic checks before and after the repair to confirm proper operation. To minimize wait time, schedule service with Nalley Kia in Lithonia; our advisors will provide an estimated turnaround and available loaner or shuttle options when needed.
Does an open recall affect my 2025 Kia Telluride's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in value and limit buyer confidence because many dealers and private buyers check NHTSA records before purchase. Having recalls completed at a certified dealer like Nalley Kia documents that safety repairs were performed correctly using OEM parts and protects resale and trade-in value. Visit our trade-in page to get an appraisal after recall work: sell your car online.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2025 Kia Telluride recall?
State inspection outcomes vary, but unresolved safety recalls — especially those affecting seat belts or air bags — can result in failed safety evaluations in some jurisdictions. Fixing recalls at an authorized dealer ensures compliance and may prevent inspection issues that could affect registration or insurance claims. Contact Nalley Kia service to confirm whether a specific recall impacts your state inspection and schedule service if needed.
