Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2025 Kia Sportage?
The NHTSA database returned 15 recall entries related to Kia Sportage vehicles; owners should confirm applicability for their VIN because many items affect earlier model years. Primary components cited include fuel pump/fuel tank connections (fuel leaks), engine bearings (possible seizure), brake system electronics (HECU short and fire risk), incorrect certification labels (tire pressure), trailer wiring harness faults, and related ABS items. These recalls list corrective actions such as fuel pipe inspection/replacement, engine inspection and replacement if needed, fuse and software updates for the HECU, label corrections, and trailer harness replacement — all performed free by dealers under the manufacturer campaign.
How do I check if my 2025 Kia Sportage has an open recall?
Check your vehicle by VIN on the NHTSA site or bring it to our service department for a free VIN recall check. You can also call Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542 for campaign numbers or bring your Sportage to Nalley Kia in Lithonia for an immediate lookup and recommendation. To confirm and book repairs, schedule service online and our factory-trained technicians will verify open recalls at no cost; we also offer service financing so you can get repairs now and pay later.
How much does a 2025 Kia Sportage recall repair cost?
Recall repairs are free of charge when performed under the manufacturer's recall campaign at a certified dealer. Nalley Kia performs manufacturer recall work at no cost, using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians to ensure the remedy matches Kia requirements and preserves your warranty and vehicle value. If additional non-recall services are suggested, we will explain costs up front and you can ask about available service specials (service specials) or financing options.
Can I get my 2025 Kia Sportage recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Manufacturer recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts and documented compliance; Nalley Kia is your certified Kia franchise for recall repairs near Lithonia. An independent shop may not have factory-only parts, software updates, or the required documentation to clear the recall in manufacturer or NHTSA records. For safety and resale protection, bring your vehicle to Nalley Kia where we use OEM diagnostic tools and log recall repairs directly with Kia; you can schedule appointment online today.
How long does a 2025 Kia Sportage recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall but most manufacturer remedies (fuse replacement, fuel pipe or label correction) take between 30 minutes and a few hours; engine replacements take longer if required. Nalley Kia prioritizes recall repairs and will give a clear time estimate when you schedule service; we provide loaner options, shuttle service, and convenient hours to minimize downtime. If an inspection reveals additional work beyond the recall scope, our team will explain options and available service specials (service specials) and offer service financing to help spread cost if needed.
Does an open recall affect my 2025 Kia Sportage's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in value and complicate private sales because buyers and dealers check NHTSA records and VIN status. Having recalls completed at a certified dealer like Nalley Kia in Lithonia protects resale value and gives buyers confidence that OEM remedies and documentation are on file. When you are ready, visit our trade-in page (sell your car online) and present completed recall repair documentation to maximize appraisal value.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2025 Kia Sportage recall?
Some recalls — especially those affecting brakes, lights, or emissions-related components — can cause inspection failures in certain states; addressing recalls promptly reduces that risk. Nalley Kia will complete recall repairs and provide the necessary paperwork so your vehicle meets inspection requirements in Georgia and surrounding states. If you need immediate assistance, schedule appointment and ask our team about inspection-related recalls and how we can help you remain compliant.
