Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2021 Kia Telluride?
The NHTSA has issued 3 recalls affecting the 2021 Kia Telluride: Air Bag (OCS/ODS detection), Electrical System (trailer brake light signal), and Seat Belt assemblies (child restraint fit). These recalls affect the occupant classification unit, trailer light signaling when Smart Cruise Control is used with a trailer, and some seat belt assemblies that may not secure child restraints properly. All corrective actions are handled free of charge by Kia dealers; call Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542 or contact Nalley Kia to schedule service.
How do I check if my 2021 Kia Telluride has an open recall?
You can check by entering your VIN at NHTSA.gov or by contacting Nalley Kia and we will check for free. NHTSA records list the three recalls above, and our service advisors will verify your VIN and recall status when you call or schedule appointment. We also offer complimentary VIN checks at the service counter and can advise on next steps immediately.
How much does a 2021 Kia Telluride recall repair cost?
Recall repairs for the 2021 Kia Telluride are free of charge to the owner under the manufacturer recall program. Kia covers parts and labor for these manufacturer recalls; Nalley Kia will perform the work using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians at no cost to you. If you need assistance with transportation or financing for unrelated service, ask about our service specials or financing options when you schedule service.
Can I get my 2021 Kia Telluride recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Manufacturer recall repairs must be performed by an authorized franchise dealer to ensure OEM parts and factory recall procedures are used; Nalley Kia is your certified Kia dealer in Lithonia, GA. Independent shops cannot always access the manufacturer’s recall campaign parts, software updates, or service bulletins the way a franchise dealer can; this can affect warranty and safety compliance. For guaranteed, documented recall repairs and free service, contact Nalley Kia to schedule appointment — we also have service financing to help with other non-recall needs.
How long does a 2021 Kia Telluride recall repair take?
Repair time varies, but most recall remedies for the 2021 Kia Telluride are completed within a single service visit, often under a few hours. For example, replacing the OCS/ODS unit or installing a wire harness typically takes a few hours; Nalley Kia will provide an estimated turnaround when you schedule service. If parts are required from the manufacturer, we will notify you immediately and arrange the earliest available appointment; ask about our service specials while you wait.
Does an open recall affect my 2021 Kia Telluride's trade-in or resale value?
Yes. An unresolved recall can lower trade-in offers and buyer confidence because many buyers and dealers check NHTSA records before purchase. Resolving recalls at Nalley Kia protects your resale value and provides documented proof of completed factory recall work when you pursue trade-in or sale options via our online appraisal tool. To protect value, get open recalls fixed promptly — you can start a trade appraisal or schedule service now.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2021 Kia Telluride recall?
Open recalls are safety issues; while inspection rules vary by state, unresolved recalls can influence inspections and vehicle safety compliance checks. Certain recalls — like inoperative trailer brake lights or seat belt assembly problems — directly affect equipment inspected by state authorities and could lead to failed inspections or legal issues. Nalley Kia in Lithonia, GA will confirm recall status and complete required repairs free of charge so your vehicle meets safety and inspection standards; schedule service today.
