Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2019 Kia Soul?
The NHTSA records include 22 recall reports across the Kia Soul model range that may affect different model years and components; not every recall applies to every year. Commonly reported components include steering/pinion plug issues, engine and catalytic-converter overheating, accelerator pedal fractures, and transmission parking/gear position concerns. Many of these campaigns target earlier model years (2010–2016) and select engines, while a few notices cover 2020–2021 engines; owners should verify applicability by VIN with NHTSA or our service team. For help confirming whether your 2019 Kia Soul is included, you can schedule service with Nalley Kia and we'll check your VIN at no charge.
How do I check if my 2019 Kia Soul has an open recall?
The fastest way is to check your VIN at NHTSA.gov or bring the VIN to Nalley Kia and we will confirm the status for free. You can also call Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542 for manufacturer confirmation, but our factory-certified technicians will verify recalls using OEM diagnostic tools when you schedule service. We recommend checking before selling or trading your vehicle because unresolved recalls can affect resale or trade-in value.
How much does a 2019 Kia Soul recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are free of charge to the vehicle owner when performed at an authorized Kia dealer. Nalley Kia performs recall repairs using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians at no cost under the manufacturer's recall program; if unrelated repairs are needed, we offer service financing—ask our service team about options. Always confirm free repair eligibility by VIN—our team will verify and explain any additional work if necessary.
Can I get my 2019 Kia Soul recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts, proper software updates, and warranty traceability; a franchise dealer is the recommended and safest choice. Nalley Kia is a certified Kia franchise dealer in Lithonia, GA with factory-trained technicians and OEM diagnostics, so we can complete recall work correctly and document the repair with the manufacturer. If you prefer, our service team can answer questions about independent shops, but any official recall remedy is recorded through the dealer network—please schedule service with us for free repair.
How long does a 2019 Kia Soul recall repair take?
Repair times vary by campaign and required parts or software updates, but most recall repairs range from a software update to a few hours; some engine or steering replacements may take longer. Nalley Kia will provide an estimated turnaround when you schedule appointment—we prioritize quick, safe completion and offer complimentary recall inspections. Check current offers on service specials and ask about service financing if additional work is needed beyond the free recall remedy.
Does an open recall affect my 2019 Kia Soul's trade-in or resale value?
Yes—open recalls can reduce trade-in and resale value because many buyers and dealerships check NHTSA records and VIN history before purchase. Resolving recalls at an authorized dealer like Nalley Kia in Lithonia, GA protects value and gives buyers confidence that OEM remedies were performed using genuine parts. If you plan to sell or trade, visit our trade-in page at sell your car online or bring the vehicle in so we can resolve recalls and maximize your offer.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2019 Kia Soul recall?
State inspection rules vary by state, but unresolved safety-related recalls can cause a vehicle to fail or raise issues during registration or insurance inspections in some jurisdictions. Nalley Kia recommends completing safety recalls promptly to avoid inspection or insurance complications; our certified technicians will perform required recall repairs free of charge. When you arrive for service, we will log the recall repair with the manufacturer and provide documentation for state or insurance purposes—book online to schedule service.
