8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2015 Kia Soul?
The NHTSA database shows 22 recall reports affecting the 2015 Kia Soul across steering, engine, catalytic converter, transmission, accelerator pedal, and structure systems. Major issues include possible separation of the steering pinion plug (loss of steering), catalytic converter overheating leading to engine/piston damage and fire risk, accelerator pedal fracture, and transmission/park mechanism faults that may allow unintended movement. All listed manufacturer's recall repairs are performed free of charge at certified dealers like Nalley Kia in Lithonia, GA; you can schedule service online.
How do I check if my 2015 Kia Soul has an open recall?
Check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or let Nalley Kia check it for you for free when you schedule appointment. You can also call Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542 and reference campaign numbers (for example SC125, SC155, SC176, SC191) shown in NHTSA records. Nalley Kia’s service team will verify open recalls, explain required repairs, and confirm that recall repairs are free under the manufacturer program; ask about our service financing if you need other non-recall work done now and pay later.
How much does a 2015 Kia Soul recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for a 2015 Kia Soul are free of charge to the owner when performed at an authorized Kia dealer, including Nalley Kia in Lithonia, GA. Can I get my 2015 Kia Soul recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recalls must be performed under the manufacturer program, and only an authorized Kia dealer can guarantee free manufacturer recall remedy and access to Kia software updates and OEM parts. Independent shops may perform general repairs but cannot apply official manufacturer recall software updates (for example the ECU update for SC191) or guarantee documentation to clear recall status in NHTSA records. For safety and warranty compliance, bring your 2015 Kia Soul to Nalley Kia — we are a certified Kia franchise dealer with factory-trained technicians and OEM diagnostic tools.
How long does a 2015 Kia Soul recall repair take?
Repair times vary by recall; simple inspections or software updates may take under an hour, while steering gear or engine repairs could require a day or more. Nalley Kia will give an estimated turnaround when you schedule service, and we prioritize recalls for safety—ask about loaner options and express check-in to speed your visit. Because some recalls involve inspection and hardware replacement (for example pinion plug reinforcement or catalytic converter replacement), bring your vehicle as soon as possible to avoid safety and drivability risks.
Does an open recall affect my 2015 Kia Soul's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can reduce buyer confidence and may lower trade-in or resale value because dealers and private buyers often check NHTSA recall status before purchase. Having all recall repairs completed at Nalley Kia in Lithonia, GA, with documentation protects resale value and speeds the trade-in process—use our online appraisal at sell your car online. Fixing recalls promptly also reduces potential insurance and inspection complications and signals to buyers that the vehicle was maintained by a factory-certified dealer.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2015 Kia Soul recall?
Some recalls affect safety systems that can cause inspection failure if the defect impacts required equipment; unresolved safety recalls may also complicate registration in some states. Nalley Kia will identify any recall-related issues during a recall check and complete the official recall repair at no charge to help you pass state inspections and keep your vehicle safe. Contact Nalley Kia in Lithonia, GA to verify your status and schedule service today; our service financing options can help with any non-recall repairs needed for inspection compliance.
