8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2014 Kia Sedona?
The NHTSA database includes 11 recall entries for the Sedona family, and one of those recalls specifically applies to the 2014 Kia Sedona (hood latch, SC134). The single recall affecting the 2014 model addresses a secondary hood latch that may bind and remain unlatched, which can allow the hood to open unexpectedly while driving. Other Sedona recalls in NHTSA records cover later model years (2015–2018 PSD and ODS wiring issues, 2019 seat-belt installation, and 2020 alternator B+ terminal concerns) and may not apply to a 2014 vehicle; Nalley Kia can confirm applicability for your VIN.

Can I get my 2014 Kia Sedona recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?

If you need assistance, schedule service with us and we’ll confirm coverage and perform the repair free of charge.
How long does a 2014 Kia Sedona recall repair take?
Most recall repairs vary from quick software updates to parts replacement and typically take between 30 minutes and a few hours, depending on the recall. The hood latch repair for applicable Sedona models often requires inspection and either lubrication/cleaning or latch replacement; we’ll give you an accurate ETA when you schedule service. Ask about loaner vehicles or express options and check our current service specials for faster turnarounds.
Does an open recall affect my 2014 Kia Sedona's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can reduce buyer confidence and may negatively affect trade-in value or resale price. Resolving recalls at a certified dealer like Nalley Kia in Lithonia, GA protects vehicle value and shows buyers the work was completed with OEM parts and manufacturer procedures—visit our trade-in page for an appraisal after recalls are fixed. We recommend addressing open recalls before listing or trading in to avoid slow sales and possible negotiation downwards on price.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2014 Kia Sedona recall?
Open safety recalls can sometimes affect inspection outcomes depending on local regulations and the nature of the defect. For example, a hood latch defect (SC134) can present a safety issue that some inspectors may note; having Nalley Kia complete the free recall repair helps ensure your vehicle meets safety expectations for inspections in Georgia and surrounding areas.
