Does an open recall affect my 2014 Kia Forte's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in offers and complicate resale because many buyers and dealers check NHTSA records and VIN history before purchase. Nalley Kia recommends resolving recalls before selling or trading in your 2014 Kia Forte; completed recall repairs at a certified dealer protect resale value and make your car more marketable—visit our trade-in page to get started. Keeping recall repair records also demonstrates safety compliance and can prevent a buyer or dealer from reducing an offer due to unresolved safety campaigns.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2014 Kia Forte recall?
Some safety-related recalls can affect vehicle operation and may cause a vehicle to fail inspection if a required safety system is disabled or compromised. For example, air bag control unit or brake switch issues reported by NHTSA could render required safety systems nonfunctional; addressing recalls at Nalley Kia helps ensure your vehicle meets inspection standards in Georgia and surrounding states. If you have an upcoming inspection, bring your vehicle in or schedule service and we will check for open recalls and complete any required corrective action free of charge.

Defect

Kia Motors America (Kia) is recalling certain 2012-2014 Forte and Forte Koup vehicles. The brake pedal stopper pad can deteriorate allowing the brake light switch plunger to remain extended when the brake pedal is released.
